Letter name: dé (say "day")
/d/ · rövid, nem nyújtható · short, can't be stretched
Zöngés zárhang: a nyelv hegye a felső fogak mögött, majd elpattan, közben zöngét adunk.
Like English "d", tongue touching the back of the upper teeth.
Every word below uses only letters taught up to this one in our order.
Egy hang, más szó! Olvasd fel párban, és mutass a jó képre.
One sound changes the word. Read each pair aloud; the child points to the right meaning.

Zöngés–zöngétlen pár.
Voiced/voiceless pair.
A gy a d lágyított párja.
gy is the "soft" palatal d.
Dob, dob, dob — dörög a dob,
Dani dobol, dobban a dob.
D-d-d — dobog a láb,
dobolj velem tovább!
Drum, drum, drum — the drum rumbles, / Dani is drumming, the drum goes boom. / D-d-d — feet are stamping, / keep drumming with me!
Nyomtatott Print: Kerek has a bal oldalon, mellette jobbra magas szár.
A round belly on the left, a tall stem on the right.
Írott (folyóírás) Cursive: Írott d: kerek a-szerű forma, a szár felér a felső vonalig.
Cursive d: like an a, but the stem rises to the top line.
Vonalvezetés Strokes: Kezdd a has felső jobb részén, balra körbe, majd szár fel a felső vonalig, vissza le, ki jobbra.
Start at the top right of the belly, go round anticlockwise, then the stem up to the top line, back down, exit right.
Figyelj! Watch for: b-vel felcserélve: a has a szár rossz oldalán.
Swapping with b: the belly on the wrong side of the stem.
A b csak 7 betűvel később jön, hogy a d alakja addig rögzüljön.
b comes 7 letters later so d settles first. The "b-e-d" fist trick works in English too.
